Historic building designed by architect Giorgio Zaninovich<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The apartment is located in a historic Art Nouveau building<\/strong> designed by architect Giorgio Zaninovich<\/a>, a student of Otto Wagner, a symbolic figure of the Viennese Secession. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dating back to the early 1900s<\/strong>, the building is listed in the General Catalogue of Cultural Heritage<\/a> and protected by the Superintendence of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape of Friuli Venezia Giulia.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

A project rich in Art Nouveau elements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Art Nouveau is widespread in Trieste, and within this context, the building features several architectural elements typical of the style: floral motifs around doors and windows, the fresco above the entrance door, the decorations beneath the eaves, and the ornamental band that runs along all four sides of the top floor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Art Nouveau elements reappear inside the building as well, both in the beautiful elevator and above the interior entrance doors, featuring marble details.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Benefits of the renovation and a secluded location<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to the recent restoration of the exterior fa\u00e7ades, the building immediately appears majestic and elegant, with its decorative elements<\/strong> standing out beautifully. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just a few minutes from the central station and located on a side street parallel to the busy Via Commerciale, the building enjoys a central location while offering a sense of peace and tranquillity, also thanks to its view of the greenery. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Reconfiguring the spaces<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

For the apartment’s spaces, already spacious and bright, we worked with the owners to find a new layout by moving the kitchen from its original position to the living area. The kitchen furniture is by Arredo3<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The old kitchen has been transformed into a study with a balcony, which can turn into a second bedroom thanks to the sofa bed, making it ideal for guests. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The living area opens onto the terrace, which overlooks the surrounding greenery.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

We keep the original parquet and doors<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The apartment has been completely renovated<\/strong>, with the restoration of the original historic parquet<\/strong> throughout the house. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the new guest room, originally the kitchen with a tiled floor, we installed new 15×190 brushed American walnut planks<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The only new element is in the study: a white door with a recessed sliding panel by GD Dorigo <\/a>from the Pegaso Omega line.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

A Turkish bath at home<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The apartment has two bathrooms, a main one and a service WC with a small hallway used as a laundry area. We were happy to accommodate the clients’ special request to create a Turkish bath. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The owners chose the Austrian company Soleum<\/a>, which supplied and installed the technical part of the bathroom. We also developed and reviewed the project remotely with them.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Both bathrooms have porcelain stoneware tiles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main bathroom has a shower, sink, and Turkish bath with a part of the floor in walnut wood and 6mm 120×260 Kerlite Lithos tiles in two different colors. The walk-in shower features a lead-colored shower tray, matching the tiles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second bathroom features Panaria tiles<\/a> from the Stone Trace Crest collection (60×120 6mm) in gray, while the floor is made of walnut wood, including the small hallway.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
