Restoring the splendor of a historic villa’s interiors
Working within a historic context
The construction of the villa dates back to 1855, when the project received approval from the Mayor of Trieste, Muzio de’ Tommasini.
The building was commissioned by Eufrosina Buchler, a wealthy landowner of the surrounding area, and over time passed through various owners, among them the Veneziani family, who lived there for many years and left a significant mark on its history.
Over the years, the villa has preserved its original charm, becoming a recognizable landmark for those who pass through this part of the city.
Complete renovation
The apartment includes a spacious living room with a fireplace, two bedrooms, a study, a kitchen, two bathrooms, two storage areas, and a private garden.
We redesigned the layout, refreshed the walls with lighter tones and new stucco work, installed new windows, and added white-painted wooden skirting boards.
We also restored and repainted all the original doors, including the entrance door, bringing uniformity and elegance back to the interiors.
The living room is renewed
In the living room it was necessary to replace the original parquet due to structural reinforcement of the floor slab; a herringbone oak parquet was installed in its place.
The layout was redesigned to create a single bedroom, a study, and a storage room, separated by a flush-to-wall door, while still preserving the overall spaciousness of the living area.
A forest-green kitchen
In the kitchen and entrance we preserved the original parquet, carefully sanded to restore its natural beauty
The kitchen, finished in an elegant forest-green tone, features a central island with an exposed hood integrated into the custom-built false ceiling.
Details that tell the story
The home features cast-iron radiators decorated with ornate motifs, which we restored to their former splendor through careful cleaning and repainting.
Today they stand out as elements of strong character: they enhance the historical identity of the residence while conveying a sense of care and refinement.
A new bathroom
A new bathroom was also created, featuring an SPC floor and a walk-in shower with tempered glass — a combination that blends practicality with contemporary aesthetics.
